Lichen sclerosus

The skin condition lichen sclerosus occurs mainly in women and often develops when women are between 45 and 60 years old. The condition lichen sclerosus can also occur in men and children before puberty.  Lichen sclerosus is a chronic condition and cannot be cured. However, the skin condition can be calmed by treatment, such as applying oily ointment or using corticosteroid ointment, light therapy and tablets (systemic). Because of the special cross in all our models, the Dutch Lichen Sclerosis Foundation (SLC) recommends Swaens!
